One person had to be hospitalized, and another is in police custody, after a two-car wreck that occurred in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Police stated that the driver of one vehicle smashed into the other car causing it to flip. She was charged with driving under the influence of controlled substances.

Both of the northbound lanes on 29 Lynchburg – from Kemper Street to Grace Street – were shut down for several hours. The police have not released the names of those involved.

We hope that the injured woman has a speedy recovery and gets out of the hospital as soon as possible. Unfortunately, she may be facing weeks, if not months, of recovery – depending on the extent of her injuries.

This accident illustrates the grave dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The best way to avoid this is to never drive after you have consumed alcohol or taken an illegal narcotic.
