Massive Vehicle Crash
Crashes involving two vehicles happen frequently. Crashes involving six vehicles however, are much less common. Norfolk Police are investigating a six-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday night in the Ocean View area. One of the vehicles involved in the crash slammed into Chanello’s pizza shop. The car was torn apart but there was no major damage to the restaurant. It took an hour and a half to clear the scene and one witness, who barely escaped the wreckage, described the crash as a jumble with glass shattered and cars sliding everywhere.
Officer Chris Amos said that one man has been charged with reckless driving as a result of the accident. The man charged, another man and a woman involved in the crash were taken to the hospital. They are all expected to survive.
Conclusion
As demonstrated by this massive accident, reckless driving can jeopardize not only the driver’s own life, but the lives of countless others as well. Drivers on the road were in danger and even patrons inside a restaurant could have been hurt. Luckily, in this situation no one was fatally injured. However, the result could easily have been different. Drivers need to be responsible and exercise caution while operating their cars or the consequences can be devastating.
