More than 12,000 women are believed to have developed blood clots while taking Bayer Healthcare's Yaz and Yasmin oral contraceptives or one of the products' generic equivalents containing a combination of ethinyl estradiol and drosperinone. The estimate comes from a tally of lawsuits filed against te drugmaker, and that count is rising.
