A prominent 57 year old California woman was killed after she was hit by a car as she was dropping off her daughter for her first year of college at the University of Virginia.
The crash occurred at 1 pm on Aug. 21, as a driver was making a left turn on a street in a shopping center near the University of Virginia campus.
The driver struck the woman, her husband and daughter. The husband and daughter had minor injuries, but the woman was seriously injured and died at the hospital.
The woman was the head of a large financial company in Los Angeles, and was a commentator on CNBC and Blloomberg. She also wrote a column for Forbes magazine.

Our hearts go out to the family in this car accident tragedy. Pedestrian accidents are all too common on colleges campuses as there is usually a high level of foot traffic near roads.
