One person was killed and nine others were hurt with non-life-threatening injuries in a Newport News, Virginia two car crash on November 26.

The Virginia State Police reported that a Chevrolet SUV was going west in Newport News on Harpersville Road when a Ford SUV going north on Louise Drive tried to cross Harpersville Road without stopping at the stop sign.

The crash caused the Chevrolet to slam into a tree and the Ford to flip onto its roof.

There were eight people in the Ford, and two in the Chevy.

It was reported that a passenger in the Ford died, and one other accident victim died as well.

Our View

Our Virginia car accident lawyers have seen similar car accidents in the Virginia Beach area before. One of our past cases involved a car in Virginia Beach that ran a stop sign and hit our client.

The violent crash required the EMTs to spend considerable time to get our client out of the car. He suffered serious orthopedic injuries.

He had many traumatic injuries to the lower part of his body and had to have several surgeries to repair his severe personal injuries.

One of the key things our attorneys did was to obtain a vocational assessment that determined how much he would have made before the accident, if he has worked a typical number of years. We determined that his earning capacity was $612,000. We also did a video of our client’s daily life that showed how difficult it was for him to care for himself.

In the end, this serious car accident lawsuit resulted in a $1 million settlement.
